The Nile

"The Nile" is the first track I ever wrote, in Tripoli. The song was inspired by my mother's grief for my father's loss, and my young heart trying to understand the eternal sadness of losing one's world. Decades later, in the UK, "The Nile", now maturer with sonically obvious crow's feet and laugh lines, finds its final sound in collaboration with the producer Pete Murray. Recorded at Soundray Studios, with zero samples, and live instruments, it represents a departure into Indie, stretching its World music wings into wider skies.
